Mathew Cherian, ACNP

Mathew Cherian, MSN, APRN, is an ANCC credentialed Nurse Practitioner with more than six years of advanced practice experience across internal medicine, oncology, and urgent care. His clinical foundation is rooted in trauma and emergency medicine, shaped early in his career at Memorial Hermann Hospital Medical Center and later at MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Emergency Department, where he cared for oncology patients with complex and rapidly evolving needs.

Mathew began his nursing journey at Essex County College in New Jersey, earning his associate degree in nursing in 2008 and achieving Dean’s List honors for academic excellence. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. In 2019, he earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) School of Nursing in Galveston, graduating magna cum laude—a reflection of his dedication to academic rigor, clinical mastery, and lifelong learning.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Mathew is known for his deep passion for cardiology, with a strong interest in heart function, disease prevention, and emerging technologies that can reduce cardiovascular stress on the general population. He is in constant search for solutions to the challenges patients face and has an immense hunger to learn the most appropriate, effective ways to treat and educate those under his care.

Beyond his clinical training, Mathew holds a degree in Hotel Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Website Designing, highlighting his multidisciplinary strengths. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, farming, gardening, watching movies, listening to music, and following soccer with enthusiasm.

Mathew brings a thoughtful, culturally responsive approach to his practice and remains committed to improving cardiovascular health and overall well being in the communities he serves.
